Z+O Microreactor

All you need to grow cultures in a controlled environment

Our MicroReactor was developed in collaboration with Oups Engineering, leading to the creation of the daughter company Z+O, for the purpose of a trade show (CES Las Vegas 2004). We enjoyed the visual effect – it was an eye-catcher – and decided to turn it into a full, useful product for the laboratory.

Technical specifications were simple:

• integrates with Microdeep™️
• compact design with less than 30×30cm2 footprint
• expandable volume: comes in 4, 8 or 12 liters volume
• temperature control between 20 and 32℃ through fixed thermostat
• manufactured completely in our facilities
• hollow pillars to let sensors and tubes go through easily, and a system to attach them to the lid
• easy drain system, easy cleanup, particularly to avoid fouling
• possibility to add up to 6 sensors (actually we got to 12)
• controllable and programmable LED system, possibility to dim the light source, homogeneous light
• diameter of the cylinder such that the center of the reactor receives enough light
• bubbles! Easy air or CO2 supply to supply constant and mild stirring of the culture
• lid system that is easy to operate, and protects from contamination
• single power plug with on/off switch
• durable, recyclable
